Jazz doubleheader this weekend

Friday February 6th, 5 - 7 pm, trumpeter "Dr Jass" Claudio Zamorano joins the Fossil Creek Gang for a "First Friday" affair.

A $5 donation gets you a stuffed potato dinner plate and refreshments, but the performance is free. The Fossil Creek Gang is composed of Dale and Suzanne Knighton on guitar, bass, banjo and vocals, and Gerry Reynolds on drums. They will be performing popular early-era Dixieland and blues tunes. Many will remember Dale & Suzanne as they were quite popular in their own group, "Whitewater."

Sunday February 8th, 3 pm, guitarist Ted Goddard joins the Frank Smith Quartet to perform "mainstream" jazz from the mid to late 20th century -- tunes you know, that swing and you will recall hearing from the greatest jazz period in this country.

Ted Goddard's professional experience includes working with dozens of major artists, (Rita Moreno, Charlie Pride, Dinah Shore, Glen Campbell are just a few) and he is considered a major artist himself. Frank Smith is a sensational musician on piano, sax and flute, and he supported by the supreme bassist, Steve Douglas, and drummer Gerry Reynolds.  A $5 donation at the door includes refreshments. The CPC is the best entertainment value in town!

BOTH EVENTS AT COMMUNITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 800 W. MAIN STREET, PAYSON, AZ
