Jazz virtuosos perform in Payson Sunday

Trumpeter Ken Taylor
joins
Pianist Dave Ihlenfeld
with
Bassist Steve Douglas
and
Drummer Gerry Reynolds

2 p.m. Sunday, April 6th

Community Presbyterian Church
800 West Main Street, Payson
Ken Taylor is a rare commodity in music: a world-class player
with a passion for performing and teaching. Dave Ihlenfeld is
the consummatejazz pianist: one who has mastered his playing
style and composition skill.  Both received their advanced
university education in music. Ken has a master's degree from
Miami of Ohio, with doctorate studies at the University of
Cincinnati. Dave has a masters degree with a specialization in
tuba performance.  Both have taught music at the collegiate and
secondary school level, and given clinics. Ken studied at the
Jamey Aerbersold clinic/camps furthering his jazz theory,
composition and performance capability.

Live people making live music for a live audience is among the
most significant of human experiences. Ken's jazz voice on
trumpet and flugelhorn will enhance this experience. As will
Dave's, one who is experienced at performing live in clubs,
restaurants and clinics. He plays weekly as thehouse pianist at
the Pita Jungle jazz jam in Chandler.

This performance will be an ideal teaching experience for
students.   Ken, Dave, Steve and Gerry will be available after
the performance to speak with anyone interested in learning
to play an instrument.

Admission: Students free, $5 donation each at the door.
