Expect delays on AZ 188

Drainage work starting
Expect lane closure, reduced speed limits

The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a project on Monday, Nov. 4 to construct two new concrete box culverts under State Route 188, between mileposts 254 and 257, east of Punkin Center by Roosevelt Lake.

This $984,000 project, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2014, will include the construction of two new concrete box culverts, removing existing pipes, and pavement and guardrail improvements.

Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. During construction there will be a lane closure and a traffic signal will be used to regulate traffic through the work area one direction at a time. Motorists will experience short delays as the signal transitions through its cycle.

Drivers are advised to adhere to the reduced speed limit and proceed through the work zone with caution and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
