Tucson, AZ-July 26, 2013

This year has welcomed good things for the Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter. The addition of a new Executive Director and an uptick in adoption rates has generated positive momentum. But while good things continue to happen, the shelter finds itself at maximum capacity and is now calling on the Tucson community to open its arms and homes to these furry felines.

“Through mid-July, our adoption numbers month over month have continued to increase,” said Joe Sprague, the new Executive Director for The Hermitage. “And, while we are excited and hopeful to reach our year end goals, our emotions are tempered by a steady influx of cats. We have simply run out of room and we’re desperately seeking good homes for these loving creatures.”

To help free up space and find forever homes for its felines, The Hermitage is offering an adoption rate special through August 31.  The adoption rates have been reduced to $25.00 per cat and $40.00 per pair and includes FIV and FeLV testing, vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip.

“We have hundreds of cats in every color, size and personality just waiting to go home,” said Sprague. “Our volunteers and adoption manager make every effort to match families with the perfect feline partner for them.”

The Hermitage was the first no-kill, no-cage cat shelter in Arizona and fully depends on the generosity of donations from the public. For those who cannot donate money, the Shelter has a wish-list for feline needs on their website www.hermitagecatshelter.org. The shelter also features all things feline on their Facebook www.facebook/HermitageCats page.

  About The Hermitage
The Hermitage Cat Shelter is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization supported entirely by donations. We are dedicated to the shelter, protection, and care of homeless cats, especially those that are often not considered adoptable by other organizations. We are both an adoption facility and long-term sanctuary for those felines who are “adoption-challenged.” including felines who are FIV or FeLV-positive, and other types of chronic health issues. All of our kitties roam free within 8,000 sq ft of outdoor/indoor living space.
