AZ police groups endorse Carmona


Today the Arizona Police Association (APA), representing more than 10,000 federal, state and local law enforcement officers in Arizona, announced their "enthusiastic endorsement" of Dr. Richard Carmona's candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

"Your longstanding service to your country and community is held in high regard to those who serve and protect," said Levi Bolton, APA's Executive Director. "Our membership is grateful for your longstanding support of law enforcement and wish to thank you for your service and dedication to our profession and the citizens of Arizona and the Nation."

Carmona is one of the most highly decorated police officers in Arizona, having received the Police Medal of Honor, Medal of Valor, Medal of Merit, Medal of Achievement -- along with other numerous commendations, including the National "Top Cop" Award and the National SWAT Officer of the Year.

APA became the latest law enforcement organization to endorse Rich Carmona for U.S. Senate. APA's public support follows the endorsements of major law enforcement and public safety associations including:

National Association of Police Organizations
Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs
Arizona Fraternal Order of Police
Arizona Highway Patrol Association
Phoenix Law Enforcement Association
Pima County Deputy Sheriffs Association
Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona
