The Payson Art League (PAL) July monthly meeting guest speaker is Beth Lewis. Beth is a
retired obstetrical registered nurse who has for the last several years
been a member of the Prescott Art Docents.
Through the Art Docent
program as well as exposure to her husband George’s fine art photography,
she has developed a keen sense of appreciation for art. Her Jewish
faith, in its orthodox teachings prohibits graven images. This presents
a paradox which led her to develop this presentation on Jewish Art.
Beth’s slide presentation on “Jewish Art” will highlight the work
of Jewish artists from the late 1800’s through the 1900’s. Well known
painters, and a famous photographer will be included. Holocaust art as
well as an exotic artist will be shown. Chagall’s work will be
highlighted.
