Mesa attracts 4 colleges - where is ours?

The featured story on the front page of today's (July 10) Arizona Republic is about how the City of Mesa has attracted and locked in four colleges to occupy vacant buildings and help revitalize its downtown.

Headlined "HOW MESA BECAME A COLLEGE TOWN," it's worth a read if for no other reason than to compare it to what's going on in the Rim Country.  Most notably, what Mesa is doing does not require a takeover of community college land and a major influx of industry backed by some $500 million in private donations.

But also of significance, the article by Gary Nelson, is so much more complete and informative than those appearing in our local newspaper.  As you read, be sure to count the number of sources quoted in the article.  That's the way it's supposed to be done.  One source stories are bad journalism, plain and simple.
