Fire that closed Beeline now contained

LONG FIRE UPDATE

8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 7

SUMMARY: 

·        Fire which began Saturday (multiple starts) along median and on west side of Hwy. 87 is estimated at about 30 acres in size and is contained.

·        Air and ground resources were successfully deployed to suppress these multiple fire starts.

·        Payson and Tonto Basin fire departments, DPS, and Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) were cooperators.

·        Both north and southbound Arizona 87 were closed by the fire, but reopened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening.  For updates, check with DPS.
