The newest story in the local newspaper about progress in negotiations with ASU to bring a 4-year university to Payson is based almost entirely on "a source close to the negotiations."
We would advise anybody against banking on a university in Payson based on such shallow reporting.

I noticed the headline when I walked by the newspaper racks at Basha's yesterday -- and noticed that it clearly said that "nothing was in writing" yet -- except in the Roundup.
If it's not in writing yet, then it's just another rumor being reported as fact by the paper with an agenda that trumps journalistic integrity every time.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah, we're talking. But we would only do it if we were properly capitalized this time.
Unless we can run their butts right out of town and back to Kansas, it wouldn't make a lot of sense. This town isn't big enough for two newspapers, unless, of course, Kenny's mythical 4-year world-class college comes - but like we said back at the beginning, don't hold your breath on that one.
