Local winery's first planting is in the ground

Contributed photo
Pleasant Valley Vineyard's first planting is in the ground.  Grapes include chambourcin, cayuga white, seyval blanc, vidal blanc, vignoles and landot noir.  Pleasant Valley Winery, located in Young, is Gila County's only winery.  Its wines are currently made using grapes grown elsewhere.

Woo-hoo! I cover a trip to Young in my Arizona guidebook, Backroads & Byways of Arizona. This is great news. Love this part of the state. So beautiful and peaceful down there -- a great place for a winery. Can't wait to see what happens with it. And I'm glad I found your blog.
