Siler honored as PHS Thespians earn 'Superior'

Rim Country resident and PUSD employee Thomas Walling recently directed a One-Act version of the play ADDICT at the annual Thespian Festival in downtown Phoenix attended by 2,000 drama students from all over the State. Payson High School Thespians received hree straight Superiors from the judges with points totaling 45.3 out of 50 which put them in Second place in the State. This makes the second year that they have taken second place in the State.

They were also honored with yet another GOLD Honor Troupe plaque which places them as one of the top most active Thespian Troupes in the State. This is the 15th year in a row for this honor.

The State Thespian Board also honored the late John Siler with a beautiful plaque for his life time work in the theatre arts in Arizona schools. Along with that they have named a State wide Thespian Scholarship after him.

Kathy Siler was shocked and honored to accept the Plaque in John’s honor. The plaque will hang in the Auditorium Lobby along with a portrait of him.
