Noted pianist, saxophonist will appear in Payson

Payson Friends of Jazz presents jazz pianist Beth Lederman and saxophonist Mary Petrich with
bassist Felix Sainz and drummer Gerry Reynolds on Sunday Sept. 12 at 2 p.m.


Saxophonist Mary Petrich has evolved as a solo performer and as a band leader in the Phoenix area, working with a wide array of talent, including Jacob Koller, Steve Millhouse, Charles Lewis, TRIO 380, The Phoenix Symphony, The West Valley Symphony featuring Lew Rawls and Monica Mancini, as well as Beth Lederman. Mary received a B.A. degree in Music from Indiana University, and a M.A. degree in Music from ASU. She completed post graduate study in Paris, France.

Pianist Beth Lederman is well-known for her sophisticated jazz and rhythmic Latin-jazz piano styles, not only in the Phoenix area but throughout the western U.S. from Canada to Mexico. She has played with well-known names such as The Diamonds, Bobby Vinton, and local artists Dave Cook, Pete Pancrazi, Alice Tatum, Paul McDermond, and her own group Novo Mundo. Beth received a B.A. degree in Music, cum laude, from ASU.

The concert will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, 800 West Main Street, Payson. It is open to the public, but donations will be accepted. Refreshments will be served. For reservations and information, contact gerryr@cox.net.
